Thank you to the more than 30 people that came to the book sale during Finley Days. Many, many books went to new homes. We appreciate you all stopping to take them.

Some of the most recent additions to the library for your reading pleasure are:

The Family Gathering by Robyn Carr (HC/LP) – Sullivan’s Crossing book #3. Set in Sullivan’s Crossing, CO. Dakota Jones has left the military and is at a crossroads in his life. He goes to Sullivan’s Crossing to visit his sister and brother. He’s drawn to the down-to-earth people and the simpler way of life. This is a story about family, warts and all. Lots of laughter and tears.

A Nantucket Wedding by Nancy Thayer (HC/LP) – A great beach-town story about family relationships and second chances. After the death of her husband, Allison is getting married. She’s anxious to have her grown daughters meet her fiancé’ and his grown children. A secret is uncovered. Will the wedding happen?

The Forgotten Road by Richard Paul Evans - #2 in the Broken Road series. The story about a man on an inspirational pilgrimage across route 66 to find his way back to himself.

Old Black Magic by Robert Parker/Ace Atkins – a Spenser novel – (HC/RP) Boston PI Spenser investigates a decade’s long unsolved crime of the theft of priceless paintings from one of Boston’s premier art museums.

The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda – (PB) – A deep, dark, twisty novel Leah’s career has imploded. She runs into an old friend, Emmy, who persuades her to move to rural Pennsylvania to start over. When the town sees some vicious crimes and Emmy disappears, Leah can’t prove that Emmy existed and marks her as a prime suspect, leaving her to uncover the truth about Emmy.

The Crooked Staircase by Dean Koontz HC/RP) – A Jane Hawk novel #3. If you’re a Dean Koontz fan, you’ll like this book. It’s paranoia-fueled suspense. You must finish it.

Turbulence by Stuart Woods – a Stone Barrington novel  (HC/RP) – This book pits Stone against man and nature. It takes him from a Category 5 hurricane he weathers in Key West to a rogue nuclear device.

The Gray Ghost by Clive Cussler (HC/RP) Sam and Remi Fargo are on the hunt for a Rolls Royce prototype known as the Gray Ghost and to prove the innocence of the person accused of stealing it.

The Woman Left Behind by Linda Howard (HC/RP) – A really good book with suspense, action and laugh out loud humor. Jina loves her job, tracking terrorists from air conditioned comfort, but she has been re-assigned to work as an on-site drone operator with a black ops team in Syria. She’s not athletic and must now to through rigorous training before she can go in the field. She thrives! A sub-plot involves a congresswoman trying to destroy the team. If you ignore some of the language, this is a good read!

Some other new (to us) books are:

The Pilot’s Wife by Anita Shreve

The House at Sugar Beach by Helene Cooper

In a Heart Beat by Leigh Anne and Sean Touhy

The Hero by Robyn Carr

The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling (the author of all the Harry Potter books

Murder in Murray Hill by Victoria Thompson - #16 in the Gaslight Mystery series

Falling for Owen by Jennifer Ryan

Tahoe Dark and Tahoe Payback by Todd Borg - #14 & #15 in the Tahoe series

Before the next Press article comes out, we’ll have the Bill Clinton/James Patterson book, The President is Missing and the newest Stephen King book, The Outsider. They are both very good books.
